Inner Games Table – A Thought from Marina

Mar 22, 2026 | Inner Games

There’s something beautifully simple about sitting around a table and playing a game.

No pressure. No expectations. Just people, a bit of laughter, and the freedom to switch off for a while.

The idea of the Inner Game Table didn’t come from a grand plan. It grew naturally—like many of the best things do. Through the local groups I’ve been running, I kept noticing the same thing: people want to connect. They want to talk, to feel part of something, but not everyone finds that easy through conversation alone.

Board games were always quietly in the background. Then one day, we just started playing.

And something shifted.

The atmosphere softened. People relaxed. There was laughter—real, unfiltered laughter. Not forced, not polite, just genuine moments of joy. It didn’t matter who you were, how your day had been, or what was on your mind when you walked in. Once you sat down at the table, something changed.

What I love most is how simple it is. We’re not playing complicated strategy games or anything intense. Just easy, accessible games that anyone can pick up within minutes. The kind where you don’t have to think too hard, just enough to stay present.

And maybe that’s the point.

In a world where our minds are constantly busy, the Inner Game Table offers a quiet pause. A space where your thoughts can settle without you even trying. You’re focused, but not overwhelmed. Engaged, but not pressured.

I’ve seen people who walked in feeling anxious leave lighter. I’ve seen strangers become comfortable with each other in a way that conversation alone sometimes can’t achieve. There’s something about sitting side by side, sharing an experience, that gently breaks down barriers.

For me personally, it’s one of those moments where I feel completely present. My mind switches off from everything else. I’m just there playing, laughing, connecting.

And that feeling… it stays with you.

The Inner Game Table isn’t really about games. It’s about creating a space where people can just be. Where connection happens naturally, without effort. Where joy doesn’t need a reason.

Sometimes the simplest things are the ones that matter most.
